3 major competing technologies: Flex, Silverlight, JavaFX.
Flex and Silverlight only targeting the desktop, JavaFX targeting the embedded world (cellphones), the desktop, and..Blu-Ray?

From a technical point of view, they are all the same. Microsoft has the power of releasing Silverlight with each OS, Adobe is already well established, Java has won the server-side battle for enterprise apps (On cellphones as well it seems), and Sun is trying really hard now on the desktop.

The main issue left for Sun is to fix, once for all, the JRE (signed applets warnings, progress bar downloads for applets, proxy settings, performance again), then, they will have a chance.
